We traversed greenhouses, hothouses, and beds of buds and blooms. We found flowers and plants in all manner of precious state.

The smell in the air was divine. 

(Fragrant and refreshing. Not sickly sweet, but perfectly balanced.) 

Though we didn’t speak as we strolled, I felt connected to your state of being all the same. You had this sense of serenity on your shoulders – an air of surety, a confidence about your place in the world.  

It was a stark contrast to the         I’ve seen recently in our waking hours. The         who has been second-guessing, turning tail, never sticking         head too far above the parapet for fear of getting burned. 

A cloud of insecurity, worry, and doubt seemed to have dissipated entirely from above your head.

I was glad – but curious. Why? Where had it gone?

Eventually, our walk led us to a sheltered orchid garden, and we wandered under curving arches laden with verdant green foliage. 

We passed impressive orchids of varying hues – vibrant oranges, deep purples, sweet pinks. Until you stopped, and I stopped behind you.

Until you kneeled before a particularly gorgeous specimen.

This was the only moment in the dream at which you spoke to me. You turned your face to mine and said: “This, Elissa. This is what I need.” Then, you reached out to touch the orchid.  

Just the softest brush of fingertips. 

Just the tiniest point of contact.

As you connected with its exquisite form, I watched in awe as it transformed into a sparkling crystal before us. Petals solidified into plump purple jewels. You smiled, satisfied. And I recognized it – the Eternal Orchid of Glorious Prestige.

It was a magical object from the collection of a friend in the mystic community. I’d seen it and touched it before, in his home.

When I realized as much, the dream began to fade out, its purpose served. But that final frame stayed in my mind…

Yes, you need attention and care. But you also deserve both! And you are so, so beautiful to behold – when you’re given what you need and able to run with it. 

Lately, the universe hasn’t been doing that for you. But we can change the narrative. Here and now.
