It’s happening on the night of December 14th, leading us into the pre-dawn hours of December 15th.
The Geminids, as mentioned, are prolific.
They come from the Gemini constellation, stick around for just over a month, and are prominent in the annual calendar of meteoric events – for 2023 and every other year.
They’re also one of the only showers in which the meteors derive from a suspected asteroid (the object 3200 Phaethon, widely believed to be a Palladian asteroid).
From a cosmic perspective, the potent Geminid energy in the air during the shower is significant and exceptional. Especially during those apex days.
