Mother Earth is a wonder, as I know you know
,
But what you might not yet have experienced in life is just how generous and loving she can be to her most faithful devotees…
With Mabon’s well-balanced, nature-friendly energies soon to fade, the quicker you can get stuck into these Devotions, the better.
Please perform all of your Mabon Devotions for Mother Earth according to the following guidelines:
- You may speak multiple Devotions daily but should leave at least 30 minutes of rest between recitation sessions.
- It would be best if you spoke each Devotion in an outdoor space, during daylight hours, without any sound other than the ambient noise of the flora and fauna.
- You should speak each Devotion with a genuine and kind heart, at your regular speaking volume.
- You should hold a blade of grass or a similar-sized sliver of plant material between two clasped palms during each Devotion, choosing a new blade/sliver for each further recitation.
- You should not share these Devotions with anyone else for their recitation, just in case they are perverted/fall into the hands of someone who doesn’t respect nature as I know you do.
Stick to these five guidelines, and you’ll be perfectly ready to speak each Devotion confidently and correctly.
Here they are…
Mabon Devotion One: For the Glorious Greenery
“Great rolling fields, shrubs and trees,
I see so much of myself in thee,
The power hiding beneath the lid,
The love you always have to give,
But still, you are much stronger than I,
By your betterness than me, I would happily be defined,
You bring forth oxygen; you keep us safe,
Nothing could ever take your place,
From forest to emerald to lime,
In your embrace, I lose track of time,
Mother nature, hear my boundless love,
For this creation of yours, so much more than enough.”
Mabon Devotion Two: For the Sustaining Soil
“Life-giving soil, so often overlooked,
Without your presence, not one meal could be cooked,
Not one home built, nor one foundation laid,
Overall, I suspect that life could not find a way,
Our entire society grows up from you,
So ‘tis you we must thank for every grandiose view,
What you bring to the table cannot be compared,
I thank you profusely for always being there,
Solid beneath me, safe and present,
Where would I be without your presence?
Mother nature, hear how much I adore,
The sustaining soil I know to be yours.”
Mabon Devotion Three: For the Awe-Inspiring Animals
“Creatures of all shapes and sizes,
Creatures of all habits and diets,
Without you all, this world would be sad,
It’s impossible to express all the value you add,
Your beauty and your power amaze,
In countless different, special ways,
I cannot possibly pick a favorite,
Any animal experience? I shall savor it,
From the cat and dog to the hummingbird,
I so appreciate your presence in this world,
Mother nature, know that my existence,
Would be empty without a smattering of puppies and kittens.”
Mabon Devotion Four: For the Integral Insects
“Insects, with your incredible communities,
So often forgotten, so often unseen,
I see the value you bring to this planet,
I see the tremendous impact you’re having,
From population control to pollination,
Each insect has its important station,
Attended to, and without fail,
Insects help human life to prevail,
If insects were to disappear,
I fear we would also no longer be here,
Mother nature, always see,
I appreciate each ant and bee.”
Mabon Devotion Five: For the Air That We Breathe
“The air that swirls, and calms, and flows,
Always there, though you might not know,
I pledge my love for you, life-giver,
Without your care, we’d all soon wither,
You hit me sharply in the dewy morning light,
And heavy, muggy, on a summer night,
But however you feel and whatever you do,
Your presence never makes me blue,
You carry me forward and push me on,
Your swaying in the trees is my favorite song,
Mother nature, hear my bone-deep understanding,
Of the place in my heart that air will always be standing.”
Mabon Devotion Six: For the Water That We Drink
“When my thirst needs quenching, only you will do,
When the heat is unbearable, I open my arms to you,
There’s nothing I need more than water to survive,
To function, to sweat, to bring tears to my eyes,
Without the gifts that you give each day,
I’m sure I’d never find my way,
And if you were to fade into endless drought,
We soon would also not be around,
I give you my love, my thanks, my praise,
I will always appreciate your powerful waves,
Mother nature, know my reverence will never end,
Know that water and I will ever be firm friends.”
Those are your Mabon Devotions, . Each one you speak will bring you closer to that tenfold increase in natural luck, which, as I’ve already explained, will manifest itself in ways both big and small.
This really will be the perfect complement to the fresh emotional start your Leaves will offer you for the remainder of fall…
Your loving friend,
